Circula Privacy Policy

Circula is a school-only student marketplace designed to help members of the Head-Royce community trade, sell, give away, and reuse school-related items. This Privacy Policy explains what information Circula collects, how it is used, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

Circula collects information needed to operate the marketplace and keep the community safe.

Account Information

• Your name
• Your Head-Royce email address
• Your Supabase authentication user ID
• Authentication session information needed to keep you signed in

You may browse public listing information as a guest without creating an account. Circula requires a verified Head-Royce email address for account-based features such as posting, saving, and messaging.

Listings and Marketplace Content

• Listing titles and descriptions
• Item categories, conditions, and trade/sale/free preferences
• Listing photos you upload
• Listing status, such as Available, Pending, or Completed
• Saved listings and listing activity timestamps

Listing content, listing photos, and the listing owner's display name may be visible to guests and signed-in users. The listing owner's school email address is not provided to guests.

Messages

• Message text
• Sender name and email address
• Conversation information
• Message timestamps

Messages help students communicate about listings and on-campus exchanges.

Reports and Safety Information

• The listing being reported
• The report reason
• Your email address as the reporting user; guest reports use an anonymous reporter label
• Report status and timestamps

Reports are used for moderation and safety review.

Blocked Users

If you block another user, Circula stores that user's email address on your device so their listings and conversations can be hidden from your view.

How We Use Information

• Create and manage user accounts
• Verify Head-Royce email access
• Let guests browse public marketplace listings
• Display marketplace listings
• Let users save listings and message listing owners
• Support reporting, moderation, account deletion, and app reliability

Circula does not use your information for third-party advertising.

How Information Is Shared

Circula does not sell personal information. Circula may store information with service providers necessary for the app to function. Circula currently uses Supabase for authentication, database storage, and backend services.

Listings, listing photos, and display names may be visible to guests and signed-in users. Marketplace messages are visible only to conversation participants. Reports and safety-related information may be reviewed by the app administrator or school-related moderators.

Third-Party Services

Circula uses Supabase to provide backend services, including account authentication, database storage, and message/listing syncing. Circula does not include third-party advertising SDKs or third-party tracking SDKs.

Data Retention and Account Deletion

Circula keeps information for as long as needed to operate the app, maintain accounts, support marketplace activity, and address safety or moderation concerns.

You can delete your account inside the app by opening Profile, tapping Delete Account, and confirming deletion. You can also contact support at circulasupport@gmail.com.

Children and Students

Circula is intended for use by members of the Head-Royce school community. Users should follow school rules and use the app only for appropriate school-related marketplace activity.

Security

Circula uses standard network security practices, including HTTPS connections to backend services. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, but Circula aims to protect user information using reasonable safeguards.

• Block users
• Report unsafe or inappropriate listings
• Sign out or delete your account

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If important changes are made, the updated policy will be posted with a new “Last updated” date.
